What are casino markers?

Casino markers are intended to be used as credit at a casino. Markers encourage people to gamble because they allow people to have access to thousands and thousands of dollars without actually having to carry around cash. Because Nevada has strict rules and regulations for paying casino markers within the deadline, if you do not meet the deadline, there can be serious consequences.

If you do not pay your casino marker within the deadline, the casino will notify you by letter that you must pay the marker. If you still do not pay, the casino will try to collect money through your bank account. If you do not have sufficient funds in your bank account, the casino will contact the Clark County District Attorney. The District Attorney will once again attempt to contact you by mail, noting the amount you are required to pay and the amount of time you have to pay it. If you still do not pay, the District Attorney will issue a warrant for your arrest, even if you reside out of Nevada.
